Pre-agriculture and industrialisation, many indigenous cultures were easily able to meet their basic sustenance needs and still had plenty of time to devote to spiritual and cultural development. Every indigenous culture around the world possesses a wealth of knowledge that has enabled that culture to survive over millennia. In Australia, Africa, the Americas and in many Asian countries, Indigenous communities have suffered greatly through the processes of colonisation, and the continuity of their spiritual and cultural wisdom has been threatened. Today, when wisdom from ancient cultures is unearthed, or when wisdom keepers from indigenous communities choose to share their precious knowledge with us, it is a great blessing and opportunity, indeed.
